This project was to design a wordmark for a hypothetical TV show. My idea was to create a show based around aliens that would be intended for teen and young adult audiences. It would follow a similar structure to other similar shows following teens solving mysteries, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Stranger Things, Veronica Mars, etc.

After I had my concept visualized, I began by doing digital sketches. I explored different typefaces and ways of manipulating the text, with the aim of capturing a retro sci-fi aesthetic. From those sketches, I picked the best sketches and refined them. I primarily played with adding different shapes into the negative space of the letters to add character while still sticking to the wordmark style. After some peer feedback, I chose the best of my roughs and refined it.

Finally, to take the project one step further, I wanted to make the wordmark look the way I envisioned it in the hypothetical TV show. I used Premiere Pro to create a glitching TV effect with the logo to really display what I imagine what the show it was made for would be like.
