Scott Pilgrim Poster Redesign

This poster set was a project on redesigning a previous work. The three original posters were made as a practice project for me to experiment and become more familiar with Photoshop’s tools. For the new set, I wanted to make a cleaner and more refined version using the same concepts and images.

For the first poster, the biggest change I made was altering the colors. The color palette of the original reads as somewhat western, so I made the colors brighter and more saturated to match the comic and video game inspired aesthetics of the movie. I altered the composition to fill the empty space and created my own wordmark to use rather than using the movie’s wordmark.

The second poster had the fewest changes. I slightly shifted the colors and composition and used the new wordmark as well. For these new posters I edited the imaged in a slightly different way, using the posterize function rather than threshold.

Similar to the first poster, I altered the colors and slightly shifted the composition. I added a border in the background in order to achieve an affect that reads more as poster rather than a collage.
